Sample Itinerary

10 DAY TRIP

Day 1: Arrive in Arusha, Tanzania

Upon arrival in Arusha, Tanzania at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by Allan & Frank to help you gather your belongings and assist at customs and immigration. Then, you will be transferred to a beautiful lodge for your first overnight in Africa. (Overnight at Serena Lodge)

Day 2: Arusha National Park

Today, you will head to Arusha National Park for a game drive. This is the smallest park but has incredibly diverse scenery and wildlife. Game drive through lush forest where rare black and white colobus monkeys can be spotted in the trees. Also keep an eye out for buffalo, giraffes, hippos, waterbucks and so many species of birds. We will head back to the lodge later this afternoon for relaxing time. (Overnight at Serena Lodge)

Day 3: Tarangire National Park

Departing Arusha we will drive across the Maasai village on our way to Tarangire National Park, which is the fourth largest and one of the greatest concentrations of wildlife. From our luxury tented camp you will have excellent and easy access to the wildlife. This park is famous for its majestic Baobab Trees and Acacia Tortilla Trees. On the game drive, you will be able to spot big groups of Elephants, Impalas, Warthog, Lion, Leopard, Gerenuk, Zebra, Giraffe, Water-buck and over 300 species of birds. Also you might be lucky enough to spot the African Pythons snake hanging on the acacia trees. (Overnight at Tarangire, Angata tented camp)

Day 4: Tarangire National Park

Early morning breakfast and head for game drive for few hours in the park. will take lunch
boxes with us, lunch will be at a picnic site and dinner at the lodge. (Overnight at the Retreat
lodge Karatu)

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater

This morning after an early breakfast, we will head to the Crater where we will descend 2,000 feet to the base of the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of a game viewing. In this unique environment, we will search for a wide variety of wildlife such as cheetahs, hippo, hyena, gazelle, including the big "Big Five" elephant, rhino, lion, leopard and African buffalo. We might also spot many species of birds including Kori Bustards, Marabou stork, Ostrich, crowned cranes and much more. Will have lunch at the picnic site, then head to the Camp in time for hot showers, dinner and to watch sun set at the campsite.

We will explore the Serengeti for the next few days, and make our way through the Great Rift Valley, Maasai Country, to the great Serengeti National Park. We will visit the fascinating Maasai tribe and view their dancing and singing and also learn about their way of life. (Overnight at Ang'ata Tented Camp Central.)

Day 6: North Serengeti

We will leave the central Serengeti this morning after an early breakfast and continue a game drive as we heading to the north where the migration of the wildebeest is taking place. Lunch will be at the picnic site and dinner at the camp. (Overnight at Ang'ata Migration Tented Camp North).

Day 7: North Serengeti

Today we hope to witness the great migration of wildebeest trying to cross the deadly river (Mara River), where the river is loaded with huge African crocodiles. We will continue our search for other animals we haven’t yet seen and possibly spot the elusive leopard. (Overnight at Ang'ata Migration Tented Camp North).

Day 8: Central Serengeti

Today after breakfast, we will be heading back to the central Serengeti, hoping to see more wildlife. (Overnight at Tented Camp in Central Serengeti)

Day 9: Central Serengeti to Olduvai Gorge Museum

After an early departure, we will exit the great Serengeti via Olduvai Gorge. We will make a brief stop at a fascinating archeological museum where the remains of the earliest human being were discovered in this area 3 million years ago. A special treat awaits you this evening at our wonderful lodge. (Overnight at Acacia Farm Lodge)

Day 10: Back to Arusha

We will depart after breakfast and drive back to Arusha in time for a bit of shopping and a farewell late lunch. You will be able to rest and relax before heading to the international airport for your departing flight. (Day rooms at Ilboru Safari Lodge.)
